The Least Technologically Advanced Sloth...

...is me. Blogger is the supposedly the easiest blogging tool & here I am, can't figure out the header. However, I finally uploaded a picture instead of the ugly Miss Rohwy on there. Hopefully, I will figure out how to make a basic layout and then, voila! The new and improved Miss Rohwy blog.

On other news besides the physical appearance of this blog... I am going to try to advertise it! Hopefully, my friend, Hannah, who has an incredibly popular blog, will help me out!

The Next Anna?

Ever since I was little, I knew I was destined to do something creative. Perhaps it was the paint that I always smothered myself with or the poufy Cinderella dress I adored and experimented with. But I knew. In the past few years, I truly discovered the world of fashion-- I became an avid reader at all the major blogs, flipped through all the latest runway photos, and ravaged several magazines in a day.

For a while, I wanted to be a fashion designer. But due to my lacking of artistic abilities, that was not an option. Then I wanted to work as a fashion merchandiser or a PR girl. But those didn't sound entirely right to me either. I mean, don't get me wrong, I would love to work in fashion PR or merchandising or buying but I knew something else was my calling.

Finally, I figured it out, and I wanted to work at a magazine. I started to lay my foundation down by doing an internship at Merrimack Valley Magazine last summer. I learned the basics-- how a magazine worked, AP Style, and magazine jargon. Now I'm a contributing writer at Mochi, an online magazine for Asian American girls.

Little by little, babystep by babystep, I've managed to come this far. Although it's not even really a foot in the door, I hope this will eventually land me a job in the industry. The competition is fierce-- it's full of beautiful, intelligent, likeable, witty, and fashionable girls. I may be one of them, but that's it. I'm onl one in hundreds and hundreds that are willing to work for this and that magazine.

But I'm sure no matter what, that God will lead me. It'll work out someway or another. Perhaps the magazine industry isn't my calling. I've always wanted to be a lawyer. :P

F.I.N.A.L.S.

There was once a Facebook group called, "Fuck I Never Actualy Learned this Shit". Although I was never a part of it, I honestly have to agree that's what finals are all about. As my finals are approaching, I have to say goodbye-- I'm so sorry for not updating lately. A bunch of personal stuff has come up and it's been hard. It's not like any of you guys miss me anyways. :P Okay have a wonderful time darlings, I will be back.

Much love always,
Miss Rohwy

Ben Button

In my sophomore English class year, we had to read two works written by F. Scott Fitzgerald- the Great Gatsby, the famous work by Fitzgerald that propelled him to fame & Bernice Bobs Her Hair, a beautifully written short story. Recently, the Curious Case of Benjamin Button was released. This movie is based on a short story written by Fitzgerald. I have not only once this winter break but twice! I watched it the first time with my boyfriend, and it was a miracle he was able to endure the three hour movie. I do admit it was a decent movie, but the beginning was a bit slow. The second time I saw it I did so with my friends, which was better but still boring at parts.

So the movie. I thought it was okay- the plot was interesting & thought inducing & definately creative, but the screenplay was a bit awkward at places. However, the costumes were fantastic & so was the soundtrack! Definately loved Bethena (A Concert Waltz) by Scott Joplin played by Benjamin Button at several places in the movie. Both Brad Pitt & Cate Blanchett did a fabulous job- this is also the first movie that made me realize how attractive Brad Pitt was. Hahah.

And as I watched it the second time tonight (or rather last night) with three of my best friends, I paid more attention to detail, and made me appreciate it a bit more. This also compelled me to read the short story that inspired it. The actual story that it's based upon is completely different from the movie, but Fitzgerald's comfortable narrative & beautifully painted scenes make it a worthwhile read. Why don't you try it?

Oh Coco, is that you?

Coco Rocha is one of my favorite models of the moment. She rivals for the number one spot right next to Daul Kim. They are both absolutely ah-mazing. Quite recently, I found out Coco has a blog! I'm pretty charmed by her- she seems down to earth and fun. She just started the blog though, so hopefully in the future, we can see her inner "normal-ness" in her- although she's quite extraordinary!

Much love always,

A Bake Craze

So lately, I've been a bit obsessed with baked goods. Baking is one of my favorite hobbies and my favorite to bake is the cupcake. They are cute, delicious, and mobile! They can be super-personalized and they are easy to make! They are my perfect baked good filled with amazing yumminess. But there are several other yummy things such as banana bread, holiday cookies (YUM!), cakes, etc. Here are some of my favorite links I found this week!

Bakerella is an amazing baking chef, and I absolutely adore her idea of a cupcake pop!

♥Fifikoussout's holiday cookies look absolutely mouth watering & cute!

♥This gingerbread heart looks absolutely delicious.

♥I have fallen in love with macarons from the movie, Marie Antoinette, but didn't find an adequate recipe for a while. But at last, I found a good, easy recipe which turned out delicious!

♥If you are craving some ice cream but it's way too cold for it (it's currently 10 degrees outside my home! Excellent.) try these ice cream cone cupcakes!

♥Do you love eggnog? I personally never tried it (I guess I'm too Asian hahah) but a lot of my friends love it! I'm going to try this eggnog cupcake recipe- sounds interesting enough!

♥My two favorite desserts are cupcakes and creme brulees. When you mix the two together, they are perfection.'

♥Tiramisu has an unusual flavor so I always expected it was hard to make. Turns out, it can be pretty simple! Wonder how this tastes though... Will definately experiment & let you know.

♥There is this really good Korean drama that aired a couple years ago called My Name is Kim Sam Soon and it is one of my favorite dramas of all time. In that show, not only was it filled with cute pigs, they made absolutely drool worthy desserts. One of them was a mango mousse cake which looks so good. I must try this for my mommy's birthday- she loves mangoes!

♥Back to cupcakes. Hahah. There is this awesome tutorial on how to make cupcake bouquet on Soompi Forums! It's absolutely adorable, and a wonderful birthday gift.

♥Notebook Doodles created the most tasty looking snacks- marshamellows with sprinkles on top. Yum.

Okay, so bake your heart out & share with those you love! Sit down, relax, eat some yummy food and enjoy what God has blessed.

Much love always,
Miss Rohwy

Happy New Years!

Hope all of you my non-existant readers are having a wonderful new year! I'm Korean, and being Korean, I eat this delicious soup and bow down to my elders for mooooolah! Unfortunately, all my family besides my immediate family lives in Korea, so I only got $20. But better than nothing!

Much love always,
Miss Rohwy
